North Carolina Colors Exploring 2022

In North Carolina, fall colors typically begin to appear in late September and early October. The peak of fall foliage in the state usually occurs in late October and early November.
During this time, the mountains of the state are filled with bright oranges, reds, yellows, and golds. We explored the 2022 fall foliage in North Carolina in the Sapphire, Cashiers, and Lake Toxaway areas. We also got to spend a little time on the amazing the Blue Ridge Parkway
Some other great places to check out if you decide to visit NC for fall colors:
1. Blue Ridge Parkway – This 469-mile scenic roadway passed through the Blue Ridge Mountains and is known for its stunning fall foliage.
2. Great Smoky Mountains National Park – This park will give you a spectacular view of the fall foliage in the Smoky Mountains.
3. Chimney Rock State Park – This park features a 315-foot high monolith with a view of the Hickory Nut Gorge.
4. Grandfather Mountain – This mountain is known for its incredible fall foliage and provides a great view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
5. Linville Gorge – This gorge has some of the best views of fall foliage in the whole state.
6. Uwharrie National Forest – This forest is known for its stunning fall colors and is a great place to take a hike or a scenic drive.
7. Mount Mitchell State Park – This park is the highest peak in the Eastern United States and offers some of the best views of fall foliage in the state.
